Welcome to the Department of Anatomy at the College of Medicine, King Saud University.

 

As the Head of the Anatomy Department, I take great pride in introducing one of the oldest and most foundational pillars of medical education. Anatomy is not just a subject — it is the cornerstone of understanding the human body, diagnosing diseases, performing surgeries, and advancing every field of medicine.

 

To our dear medical students: From the Department of Anatomy begins the journey of every physician. It is here that you first explore the structure of the human body, laying the essential groundwork for all future clinical knowledge. Whether your path leads you to surgery, pediatrics, research, or any other specialty — it all starts here.

 

The Department of Anatomy is deeply committed to excellence in teaching, research, and academic leadership across the disciplines of gross anatomy, histology, and embryology. Through innovative teaching strategies, well-equipped laboratories, and a student-centered curriculum, we aim to provide an inspiring and supportive environment for learners at all levels.

 

Our faculty members are a source of great pride. We are fortunate to have a distinguished team of educators with deep expertise in teaching, mentoring, and simplifying complex anatomical concepts. Many of them are also accomplished writers and contributors to literature, reflecting the department’s unique blend of scientific and cultural excellence. They are not only educators but also active researchers contributing to scientific knowledge in areas such as stem cell biology, cancer genetics, anatomical variations, and developmental anomalies. We are also proud to be integrating artificial intelligence into anatomical sciences, bridging traditional knowledge with modern technology.
